Dele-Bashiru Sidelined After Injury Setback

Date:

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is expected to spend between 15 and 20 days on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during Lazio’s Serie A clash with Bologna.

The Nigeria international picked up the injury in the encounter at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on August 24 and was replaced by Davide Frattesi in the 54th minute.

According to gazzetta.it, Dele-Bashiru suffered a first-degree flexor strain and is expected to miss Lazio’s next three league fixtures against Genoa, Udinese and AC Milan.

The 25-year-old is, however, expected to return to action when Lazio face Venezia on September 19.

The injury also places Dele-Bashiru’s availability for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau next month in doubt.

The former Sheffield Wednesday star will now focus on his rehabilitation as he looks to make a swift return to action for both club and country.
