U-20 WWC: Falconets Beat Poland 1-0 In Friendly

Nigeria’s Falconets secured a 1-0 victory over hosts Poland in an international friendly at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on Friday.

Mary Mamudu scored the winning goal in first-half stoppage time to hand Moses Aduku’s side a morale-boosting victory ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Both teams created a number of clear-cut opportunities after the break, but neither side was able to add to the scoreline.

The Falconets will now turn their attention to their final warm-up fixture against Korea Republic.

The friendly will take place at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium on Tuesday, September 1, with kick-off scheduled for 4pm local time.

Aduku’s side are stepping up preparations for the U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be staged in Poland.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and debutants New Caledonia.

The Falconets will open their campaign against Spain on Monday, September 7.
