2026 Zenith Bank Team Tennis: Kalada Kienka Maintains Blistering Form At Ikoyi Club

The 2026 Zenith Bank Team Tennis event continued on Tuesday evening with Kalada Kienka, of the Diaspora Banking Team, winning his second match in the Red Group without dropping a point.

Kienka was on fire in the Day 2 match against Sesan Dada of the Scan to Pay Team, as he powered to another 9-0 victory to further boost the total haul of his Diaspora Banking Team.

It would be recalled that Kalada had an easy ride of a 9-0 win over Emeka Azinge of the Prestige Banking Team on Day 1 of the ongoing tournament.

Nora Azubuike of the Scan to Pay Team, however, defeated Itoya Etomi of the Diaspora Banking Team 7-2, in a largely one-sided encounter.

At the end of Day 2, the Prestige Banking Team leads the Red Group with 53 points, with the Diaspora Group coming a close second with 47 points.

In the Blue Group, Akeem Mustafa of the Aspire Team recorded his second win with an emphatic 9-0 defeat of Dominic Icha of the Zeca Team, just as Emmanuel Anikibe of the Zeca Team defeated Azu Okonkwo of the Aspire Team, 6-3.

At the end of Day 2, the Aspire Team leads the Blue Group with 51 points, followed by the Zeca Team with 46 points.

The tournament continues on Wednesday at the Ikoyi Club, when the round robin stage will be completed, with the top 2 teams in each Group qualifying for the semifinal knockout stage.

Tennis section Chairman, Victor Onyenkpa, told newsmen on Tuesday that the tournament would keep getting better till the final stages.

He expressed delight over the huge turnout of fans for the competition.
