NPFL: Kun Khalifat FC decry attack on coach after Doma United's draw

Date:

Kun Khalifat FC have called on the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, to ensure the safety of their players and officials following an alleged attack at Pantami Stadium.

The Owerri-based club held Doma United to a 1-1 draw at the stadium on Saturday.

Kun Khalifat’s technical adviser, Obinna Uzoho, was reportedly attacked after the match.

The club expressed frustration over recurring safety concerns during away matches.

“When we lose at home, we lose in peace. But whenever we win away or pick a point against the home team, our lives will be in the hands of God. This is so, so unacceptable,” the club said in a reaction to graphic footage showing Uzoho’s injuries circulating on social media.

“Again, we can’t continue like this. NPFL, please protect our lives,” the club added.
