Man arrested for sexually assaulting 13-year-old housegirl in Adamawa

A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly luring a housegirl, 13, into his house and spending a night with her.

According to the Adamawa State Police Command, which brought the matter into public knowledge, the man, who lives alone in Yolde Pate, a community in Yola South Local Government Area, lured the girl into his apartment and spent the night sexually assaulting her.

The state police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the girl had earlier been declared missing by her master.

Nguroje said the master had been forced to report the girl as missing after intensive searches were conducted to locate her following her disappearance.

The police spokesman assured that the man, whose name he gave as Adamu Mohammed, would be prosecuted after a full investigation.
