C’River: We’re Mobilising To Give Otu 1m Votes – Group

Date:

A Cross River State group, Neighbour 2 Neighbour, has promised to deliver one million votes for the re-election of Cross River State governor, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, in the 2027 general elections.

In a press briefing on Tuesday held at the Earnest Etim Bassey Press Centre, the group said its main goal is to ensure that the governor returns to complete his eight-year tenure “and complete projects he has started.”

The Director General of Neighbour 2 Neighbour, Mr Bobby Ekpenyong, who led the Local Government Coordinators, maintained that the group had toured the eighteen local government areas of the state and interacted with various communities and that the interaction would form feedback for the governor to redouble efforts in attending to governance.

“We have noticed that there is a gap between the government and the people. As the election draws near, we discovered the gaps, and we are taking up the responsibility to close the gaps because the governor is doing well in every sector.

“We want to mobilise one million voters for Governor Otu. We don’t want any apprentice to come and govern a state as complex as Cross River State. We are going about the mobilisation peacefully, and we are engaging the communities in all of the local government areas of the state,” he said.

He also pledged that the group will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, claiming that he has carried out reforms that will propel the country to prosperity, appealing to Nigerians to allow him another four years.
