Ballon d’Or: Olise disagrees with Henry, names player who should win 2026 award

Bayern Munich ace Michael Olise has disagreed with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry over the player who deserves to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Henry recently named Kylian Mbappe as his number one candidate to win the Ballon d’Or, while Olise ranked behind the Real Madrid attacker as his second choice.

However, in a recent video posted on X by Bayern Munich, Olise endorsed his club teammate Harry Kane as the player who deserves the individual honour.

“Because he was the best player last season,” the France international said when asked why Kane should win the Ballon d’Or.

Kane scored an incredible 72 goals for Bayern Munich and the England national football team in the 2025-26 season.

The 33-year-old also won the Bundesliga title with the Bavarians and helped the Three Lions win a bronze medal at the 2026 World Cup.
