Bala Mohammed Receives Signed World Cup Ball From Canadian Player

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has received a signed official match ball from the 2026 FIFA World Cup game between Canada and Morocco in a gesture highlighting international friendship through sports.

The souvenir was presented by Hajiya Abi Hafsat Sulaiman, wife of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, who disclosed that her son, Owen Goodman, represented Canada at the tournament and arranged for his teammates to autograph the ball before sending it to the governor.

She said the gift was in recognition of Governor Mohammed’s support for sports and youth development in Bauchi State.

Governor Mohammed thanked the donor for the thoughtful gesture, describing the signed ball as a symbol of goodwill and sporting unity.

He reiterated his administration’s determination to promote sports as a platform for youth empowerment while expressing hope that Nigeria’s Super Eagles would secure qualification for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The event was attended by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Adamu Babayo Gabarin, and other senior government officials.
