AFCON qualifier: Chelle provides injury update on Osimhen, two others

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has provided an update on three players ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar on Friday.

Speaking to the media on Thursday evening, Chelle said Victor Osimhen, Alhassan Yusuf and Dele-Bashiru would miss the match due to injuries.

The Malian also expressed confidence that their absence would not be a problem for the Super Eagles.

Speaking about the injured players, Chelle told reporters, “We have a lot of injured players. Victor Osimhen, Alhassan Yusuf and Dele-Bashiru, but it’s not a problem for us.

“We are ready; it will be difficult because Madagascar is a big team. It will be a fight; they defeated Nigeria in 2019.”

The Nigeria-Madagascar match will take place on Friday evening in Uyo.
