Nollywood actress Tope Osoba’s burial postponed indefinitely – Family

The family of late Nollywood actress, Tope Osoba, has postponed her burial indefinitely, days after her death sparked controversy over the circumstances surrounding her final moments.

The family announced the development in a statement shared on the actress’ official Instagram page on Wednesday, citing the need for further arrangements and the conclusion of necessary matters.

The family said the decision followed the candlelight and artists’ night held in honour of the actress.

“With deep sadness, the family of Tope Osoba wishes to inform friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers that the burial ceremony has been POSTPONED until further notice,” the statement read.

The family appealed to the public for understanding and continued prayers and support during the period.

“The family respectfully asks everyone for their understanding, patience, prayers, and continued support during this difficult and sensitive period,” it said.

The new burial date and venue will be announced through the family’s official channels once the outstanding matters have been resolved.

The family also expressed appreciation to those who attended the candlelight and artists’ night and others who had continued to support them following Osoba’s death.

“The new burial date and venue will be communicated officially by the family once the necessary matters have been resolved,” the statement added.

Osoba, 40, died on August 5, with the circumstances surrounding her death remaining unclear. Her death has generated controversy following differing accounts of her final moments and allegations involving her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko.

The Celestial Church of Christ had on Tuesday said it was discreetly investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
