The Zamfara State chapter of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured people of fulfilling the dreams the state has long struggled to convert into reality, which proved abortive following incompetence and indecision by the successive leadership of the state.
The party gave this assurance through the state Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, in a statement issued by him to appreciate the teeming supporters and the party members who eventually attended the inauguration of the campaign council organised by the party in Gusau on Tuesday.
Maikatako reiterated that, as far as politics and the yearning for rapid development of Zamfara State is concerned, a seasoned politician like Senator Kabiru Marafa, who has vast knowledge of the demands of the good people of the state, is in dire need of being elected to steer the affairs of the state by 2027.
“Therefore, I call upon the good people of Zamfara State to continue their steadfast support for Senator Marafa. His track record speaks for itself. He has never failed his people, and he will never fail you.
“If elected as Governor of Zamfara State, he will not disappoint you. He did not fail you before, and by the grace of Allah, he will never fail you. His commitment to the progress and prosperity of our dear state is unwavering.
“To our supporters who may have left us, I extend a heartfelt and open invitation: please come back to your home. You know who Senator Marafa is. He has no record of betraying or deceiving his followers. He has never used and dumped the people who trust him.
“He treats everyone fairly and equitably, to the best of his judgment. I urge you to return to the house where you have total freedom, a house where you are respected and valued. How can you leave a house where you are treated with such dignity?
“This movement is the movement of success. The countless number of people who participated in the inauguration of the Campaign Council is a clear indication that victory is within reach.
“Come and be part of this success story. The door is wide open for you to return and contribute to the realisation of a better Zamfara.
“There is no shame in returning home; there is only strength in unity. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will win”, Maikatako has stressed.
Furthermore, the Chairman called on other political parties to join hands with NDC, “I am not saying this out of pride, but because many people have testified that Senator Marafa is a strong contender with the support of the majority of Zamfara’s electorate”.
