2026 World Cup: Haiti become first team to be eliminated from tournament

Date:

Haiti became the first team to be eliminated from the 2026 World Cup.

The island nation suffered a 3-0 thrashing in the hands of Brazil on Saturday morning.

Cunha scored twice within 13 minutes for the Selecao, before Vinicius Junior slotted home his second goal of the World Cup.

It was Haiti’s second consecutive defeat at the tournament and sees them exit the tournament at the group stages.

Brazil’s victory puts them top of Group C on goal difference.

However, the top spot is wide open ahead of the final round of fixtures on Wednesday when they face Scotland, who were beaten by Morocco on Tuesday.
